You will become more familiar with the definitions and terms relating to pumps and pumping along with gaining a good understanding of the types of pumps most commonly used in industry and a detailed analysis of Pump Failure Causes is covered. You will be clear on the main factors taken in to account in the selection of a pump for a specific application along with the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of pumps and pump specification for specific / special services.
SAFETY: Notifications to safety department/electrical isolation/mechanical isolation/removal of entrapped product.
PUMPS: definition of terms/pump types and their operation/ centrifugal/positive displacement/dosing
PUMP SEALS: glands/oil seals/mechanical seals
PUMP BEARINGS: location/ball/thrust
PUMP MAINTENANCE: seal maintenance/bearing maintenance/improvement of life/S.P.M. (shock pulse maintenance)
ALIGNMENT: error of angularity, error of eccentricity, combination of angularity & eccentricity, gap readings (taken to check error of angularity), periphery readings.
DIAGNOSIS OF PUMP PROBLEMS: Participants are welcome to bring along the pump problems they are experiencing and these can be diagnosed during the course.
