Day 1: Foundation, Mass & Dimensional Calibration
- Measurement Standards and Traceability
- Measurement Uncertainty
- Test Uncertainty Ratio

- Calibration Certificates
- Mass classification – construction, material, tolerances
- Calibration of weighing machines and balances
- Calibration of calipers, micrometers, dial gauges and height gauges
Day 2: Temperature & Electrical
- Thermometer Types: Thermocouples, Liquid in Glass Thermometers, Platinum Resistance, Thermometers and Thermistors
- Practical calibration of PRTs, Pt100 probes and Thermocouples using a variety of Temperature Mediums
- Calibration of Hand-Held Digital Multimeters
- Calibration of Electrical Indicators
About this course
Modern industry relies on accurate measurement and control of process parameters to ensure high quality products are produced safely and efficiently. Technicians working in the Process and Pharma industries are involved in the installation, configuration, calibration and maintenance of measurement and control systems. This course is designed to give attendees the knowledge required to operate in such environments and it will introduce industrial instrumentation as used for troubleshooting, process measurements and process control.
Training Approach and Method
Course takes place in a Laboratory setting and variety of instruments are calibrated using equipment supplied under guidance of course instrutor.
Course Objectives
On completion of this course participants will have learned about the basic principles and requirements of measurement and calibration and the methods, equipment and practices employed in a variety of calibration disciplines and will calibrate a variety of instruments.
